President's Message

Dear members and friends,

I hope all of you and your loved ones are doing well. I’m sure most of you are in the middle of the breeding season and are starting to see if those special matings are producing what you expected from them. Best of luck to you in producing that special bird that has it all.

I have just weaned my first round of youngsters and have moved them into the kit loft. So far, I like about four of them, as far as type, size and intelligence is concerned. The next test will be their ability to fly and avoid hawks.

About the newsletter

First I would like to apologize for the delay of our newsletter. This one is the first of 1999, so expect three more by the end of this year. The club has agreed to honor all of our current members through this year. That means dues will be collected January 2000.

Due to unfortunate circumstances the vice president was not able to produce any newsletters for us. He has also resigned from his duties as an officer of the club.

I have appointed Mr. Mark Orme of San Antonio, Texas to fill this position. Mark is willing and able to produce a timely quality newsletter for us, but it is important that everyone contributes to it. Our last newsletter featured a small article from John Romanowiz of Sharon, Mass. With some beautiful photos of his loft and birds. We would like to see some of this information shared by other members, so we can get to know a bit about you and your birds.

F.O.R.S. Bands

Our band sales went very well for 1999. We sold all one thousand bands. A big THANKS to those of you who supported the program. A big thanks to Mark Orme for doing a great job of distributing them. We have placed our order with the N.P.A. for next year (2000). It is not too early to place your order, especially if you would like a certain number series.
