Vice-President's Message
Here we are again another month another Newsletter. As always I would like to thank the members for their continued support with their articles, and yes, we need more photos and written material from you!
As our president mentioned in his message, we are now accepting nominations for the new club officers. It has been my pleasure creating your Newsletter in full-color for the past year.
If there is one breed that is so misunderstood and under-exposed it is the Flying Oriental Roller. Keeping this in mind, I wanted the Newsletter to be the best it could possibly be. By using full-color and personalizing the member's and their birds, we have started a trend that is already being copied by several clubs in the USA.
I am happy to have been a part of this "new thinking and new approach". However, the Flying Oriental Roller deserves all the credit. Like many people who stumble across the Flying Oriental Roller I also fell in love with the breed and hence the web-site that followed.
Our web-site is devoted to the Flying Oriental Roller and all facets of it. The web-site was started to represent the Flying Oriental Roller and to give it the exposure it so desperately needs. There is so much confusion in the pigeon community and the general public regarding the bird's very existence.
Dora and I have tried to help dispel some of the "silly rumors" that surround The Flying Oriental Roller. Our web-site will continue to flourish as I hope the Newsletter and F.O.R.S. does.
Our president has expressed a strong desire to publish the Newsletter for the following year (2000-2001). As I hand over the Newsletter to George I want to wish him all the best and hope that the standard we have set for ourselves will continue. If I am needed for any club purpose I will not be hard to find, as being a member of F.O.R.S. is a high priority to me.
Mr. Joe Corbett is your new Band Director and as I understand it, we still have plenty of bands left to sell. Please support your club by purchasing bands today!
Thank you once again for your support during the past year. Your comments are always welcome.
Sincerely,
Mark Orme (mmit)
